Did you say...Frugal Friday?

Wendy , from The Shabby Nest, is having a linky party,
Frugal Friday

***
I didn't have to think too long and hard for some frugalness, so
I present to you our well used chalk board.
This, I made from an old fence we had torn down. My inspiration was from barn board items I had seen. These old fence boards have that look which only time and outside elements can create.
I first painted a piece of 1/4" scrap board with black chalk board paint.
Next step was to cut the pieces of fence board, The outside ends are left ragged.
These pieces were just screwed from behind to the painted board.

I added a finial, chalk board brush and chalk.

  1. Love the rustic look of that frame! Some day, we want to do that in our little German apartment. Well we as in me so far! Haven't quite mentioned it to the husband yet. Need to soften him up...
